New Changing Facilities

Unity City Academy has joined forces with its local community to build state-of-the-art changing facilities on a sports ground, costing in the region of £1 million.

The new building, which will be located on the Academy's grounds, will include changing rooms, a meeting room, a kitchen and disabled facilities.

Funding has been provided by the Football Foundation and the new facilities will benefit students attending the Academy and provide North Ormesby Football club with a new home base from which it is hoped the club will go from strength to strength.

The installation of the Astroturf pitch on the site of the Southlands Leisure Centre was also funded from the Football Foundation grant and will be available for use by the whole community for a range of sporting activities throughout the year.

Patricia Towey, Principal said: “This a really exciting project not just for UCA but for the whole community as so many young people will benefit from our partnership with NOFC and our thanks must go to the Football Foundation for their generous support, without which these facilities could not have been built”.
