Unity City Academy is committed to inclusion and there is scope for active community involvement in the Academy as a local centre of excellence.

To encompass this the Academy operates an extended day and facilities are available throughout the year, with the exceptions of some public holidays.

The development of a partnership between the school and community is a key feature of the Academy. This partnership is a mechanism for helping to maximise the use of resources by both the Academy and the community and also to ensure that a broad and balanced range of learning, sports and recreational activities are available to meet the needs, interests and aspirations of the community.

The Parents and Friends of the Unity brings together parents, teachers and the local community. We organise activities and events on behalf of the Academy.

Our aims are:

  • to promote Unity City Academy within the local community
  • to raise funds for the school
  • to engage parents, teachers and the local community in the activities of Unity City Academy
  • to help ensure that Unity City Academy is an excellent school of which everyone can be proud
