The Vision

All students follow a common curriculum. In many subjects, students are taught in ability groups. All learning is assessed at the end of every module and regular reports enable parents to monitor their child’s progress. Specialist help is available for students with learning difficulties.

Year 7 & 8

  • Improve consistency.
  • Focus on process rather than product.
  • Teach the students routines and positive learning behaviours.
  • Focus the learning to complete KS3 in two years, tests and all.
  • Year 7 students who regularly demonstrate positive learning behaviours graduate to a more diverse curriculum in Year 8.

Year 9

  • Develop skills for their chosen pathway during first term.
  • Engage, enthuse, achieve.
  • Progress at a pace that suits the learner.
  • Develop skills to be used in the Applied Enterprise Centre.

Year 10 and 11

  • Early entry for those who can achieve.
  • Extend learning in preparation for post-16 studies.
  • Students who require longer to hone skills can take that time.
  • Links cemented with further education providers, employers and trainers
